Microcosm and macrocosm, might and focus: On her new GENUIN CD, pianist Marie Rosa Günter combines Ludwig van Beethoven's late Hammerklavier Sonata and his Bagatelles Op. 126 with Anton Webern's aphoristic Variations Op. 27, as well as the world premiere recording of Variations on "Jerusalem" by Braunschweig composer Ulrich. The CD is an insight into magnificent later works in a highly demanding pairing born out of the silence of the pandemic. Once again, the pianist, who teaches at the University of Music and Drama in Hanover, brings out a CD with profundity at the highest level following her production featuring Bach's Goldberg Variations!

Further text by Ulrich Kallmeyer on the CD programme: "Beethoven, Webern, Kallmeyer - Construction and Emotional Expression"

PIANIST
"Günter's pianistic qualities allow her
her to play this "eight-thousander" (Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata) of the piano literature technically flawlessly, and her musical depth testifies to astonishingly mature artistry." Review by Florestane Croche published in issue 4/2023

American Record Guide
"James Harrington, who reviewed her first recording considered her playing “extroverted” and “traditional”, is quite in agreement with my impressions of the present release. The recorded sound is very good." November/Dezember 2023 issue

PianoNews
"Marie Rosa Günter has produced an altogether magnificent and attention-grabbing recording that proves her to be a fantastic pianist." Review by Carsten Dürer, November/Dezember 2023 issue

Klassik-heute
"Her interpretation is of a piece, closely following the intricate notation, yet drawing breath for the spiritual and emotional depth of the work." Review by Klaus Trapp, 02 September 2023
