After their rousing GENUIN debut CD in 2011, the musicians of the Leibniz Trios are following up their success one year later. The fact that the jury members of numerous international competitions were taken with them can be well imagined when the first bars of Mendelssohn's virtuoso Piano Trio in D Minor have cast their spell. Hwa-Won Pyun (violin), Lena Wignjosaputro (cello) and Nicholas Rimmer (piano) offer their listeners technical perfection in all three instruments together with perfect balance and beauty of sound. And whoever thinks young musicians can only play brilliantly should allow himself/herself to be drawn into the marvellous beauty of the two slow movements...

Fanfare
"The members breathe well together, they meticulously shape the musical lines, and they are ever-careful in their close attention to details, especially of articulation. Where the group truly impressed me in its previous recording, however, was with how well it captured the spirit of the music."
