Do you like arias? So much that you already know every piece on this CD?
Nevertheless, these new versions are well worth hearing! We present a selection of the most beautiful and well-known arias, chosen and performed by the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg in cooperation with the Radio Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) and the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt.
Composer Siegfried Matthus ushered the muses back to historic Rheinsberg in 1990 when founding the festival there. Since then, he’s led groups of young, ambitious opera singers every summer. Singers are carefully chosen from a field of over 500 applicants. Major works are performed before audiences who faithfully return each year. All this takes place in atmosphere no stage designer could ever create — the Heckentheater, an attraction in itself in the midst of a splendid park. The rebuilt Schlosstheater forms part of the historical compound made up of the castle and Kavalierhaus with a surprisingly modern auditorium within. Nearly 20,000 visitors a year experience unforgettable evenings of opera in a romantic summer setting.
