Ines Agnes Krautwurst studied voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. During her eight years of training she received engagements at leading theaters and opera houses, among others in Eisenach, Bremen, Mannheim, Dortmund, Halle, Leipzig, Kaiserslautern, Liège and, Montpellier. She has interpreted roles such as Aldonza in “The Man of La Mancha,” the narrator in “Sorbas,” Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls,” Sheila in “Hair,” Magenta in “The Rocky Horror Show,” the witch in “Into the Woods,” Samiel in “Freischütz,” Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” Sally Bowles in “Cabaret,” Annie in “Annie Get your Gun,” Anita in “West Side Story, „the lead role in “Evita,” Mr. Green in “Abydos,” and Lady Thiang in “The King and I.” She has also appeared in variety shows such as “Der Spätsommernachtstraum,” “Die Schneekönigin” and “Märchenhaft.” Ines Agnes Krautwurst has sung in various ballet productions of the Ballet Rossa at the Halle Opera House, among others in “Und heimlich schauernd sehn ich mich…” and “Juliet Letters.” In April 2009 an arrangement of the string quartet “Juliet Letters” by the composer and pianist Stephan König was performed with the Leipzig String Quartet. Ines Agnes Krautwurst has had the good fortune of singing with Pina Bausch (“The Seven Deadly Sins”/“Fürchtet Euch nicht”). She also traveled to Beirut with the Leipzig vocal ensemble Amarcord to perform the ballet chanté “The Seven Deadly Sins.” Ines Agnes Krautwurst is a sought after solo artist with over 30 solo programs of her own arranged and performed with Stephan König – from chansons to jazz, from improvisations to arrangements, all the way to classical song cycles. She takes an active interest in cross-genre music performance and emphasizes this when teaching voice at the Kunst- und Musikschule in Jena and the Musikschule “Neue Musik Leipzig.” She also gives voice workshops in jazz, musicals, chanson, and improvisation. In addition, Ms. Krautwurst develops pieces and dramaturgies and also works as a director. She has collaborated with the Saxon Wind Philharmonic since 2010.
