For her extraordinary artistic versatility, violinist Markéta Janoušková is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. Her uninhibited interpretation, velvety tone, and technical virtuosity, as well as her intelligent, all-encompassing dramaturgy, have been praised by critics. Markéta Janoušková is a member of the Mirage Quartett Berlin, the Trio Crogiolo, and the Vitti Ensemble, having performed in Europe, Russia, Ecuador, and the USA.

She has played in prominent venues such as the chamber music halls of the Berlin Philharmonie and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Konserthuset Stockholm Chamber Hall, the Dvořák Hall in the Prague Rudolfinum, and the Smetana Hall in Prague. Her recent concert achievements include solo and chamber performances at the Brave New Music Festival of the Sibiu Philharmonic, Le Dimore del Quartetto in Venice, and Concentus Moraviae. The violinist has collaborated with leading artists such as Josef Suk, Shlomo Mintz, and Charles Olivieri-Munroe.

Markéta Janoušková is a prolific classical music recording artist. She has released several CDs and regularly records for Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Czech Television, and Czech Radio. She newly interpreted the complete oeuvre of Miloslav Kableláč for violin as part of an exclusive project for Deutschlandfunk Kultur, in which her colleagues are soloists or solo members of the Berlin Philharmonic.

In 2022, Markéta Janoušková was nominated for the prestigious Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize in the solo category for artists under 35 who are systematically engaged in performing contemporary music. She is a member of the Miloslav Kabeláč Foundation and an alumnus of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where she currently lives.

Thanks to her family roots, Markéta Janoušková draws much inspiration from folk music. She is the founder and artistic leader of FolkloreClassic – a crossover project bridging classical and folk music, in which she collaborates with her father’s dulcimer band. The concert project has been extraordinarily successful at classical music festival venues.

Markéta Janoušková plays the violin of Henry Lockey Hill, kindly borrowed from the private collection of Dr. Peter Hauber.
