At the end of February, GENUIN sound engineer Michael Silberhorn recorded the two Mozart piano concertos KV 456 and 467 with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under conductor Howard Griffiths. Pianist Jonathan Fournel played as soloist.
"With Mozart, it's like looking in a mirror: a 1:1 reflection. You hear if the intonation is right, the rhythm, the phrasing, the tempo, the musicality. All that has to come together, and yet it has to be alive, exactly within the framework that Mozart sets," says the British conductor about the challenge of playing Mozart.
