Katia Tchemberdji

Katia Tchemberdji was born in Moscow to a family of musicians. She studied composition and piano at the Moscow Conservatory of Music. In 1990 she moved to Berlin, where both her performances and compositions are much in demand.

As a pianist and composer Tchemberdji regularly receives invitations and commissions from a variety of international festivals, such as Heidelberger Frühling, Berliner Festwochen and Tage der Neuen Musik Zürich. She has composed works commissioned by The Hilliard Ensemble, Münchener Kammerorchester and Komische Oper Berlin among others.
