Julius Heise was born in Neubrandenburg in 1987. The vibraphonist, percussionist, and composer lives in Berlin. He received his first percussion lessons when he was five years old, piano and music theory at the age of ten and as a 12-year-old was a student at the "Hanns Eisler".Hochschule für Musik. He has been awarded several first prizes at Germany’s "Jugend musiziert" and "Jugend jazz" music competition and, from 2007 to 2011, studied vibraphone and percussion at Berlin's Jazzinstitut with Prof. David Friedman and Prof. Mario Würzebesser. Since 2008 he has played goodwill concerts for the "Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now" foundation, including at elementary schools and schools for disabled children. Since the fall of 2011 he has been the chair of the percussion department at the Musikschule "Klangbaum" in Tiergarten.
