Bach Festival in Leipzig with Numerous GENUIN Artists

The Leipzig Bach Festival is taking place this year from June 10th to the 19th and once again features many artists who appear on GENUIN classics. Among them include the clarinetist Bettina Aust, who won the German Music Competition in 2015, the shawm player Katharina Bäuml, the organist Els Biesemans, the harpsichordist Jean-Christophe Dijoux and the Klenke Quartet. The a-cappella group Ensemble Nobiles and the Leipzig University organist Daniel Beilschmidt are giving numerous performances.

The motto of this year’s Bach Festival is “Secrets of Harmony.” With a total of 112 events at more than 30 locations in and around Leipzig, the public has the chance to sample a wide variety of offerings ranging from religious and secular music programs, jazz interpretations, chamber concerts, open air events and organ excursions. The festival has been held at irregular intervals since 1904. Since 1999, it has been organized by the Bach Archive on behalf of the city of Leipzig.
