Both were nominated in the category "CD – Für die ganze Familie" ("For the entire family"). The award ceremony will take place on September 27, 2019, at the WDR Funkhaus in Cologne.

A total of 123 music productions applied. All of the CDs nominated may display the "Recommended by the Association of German Music Schools" label on the cover and are thereby placed on the list of recommended audio media of the Association of German Music Schools (VdM).

Since 1997, the Association of German Music Schools (VdM), supported by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, has been awarding prizes every two years to outstanding music recordings for children. Other LEOPOLD partners are Kulturradio WDR3, the German Initiative Hören association and, since 2018, the Research Center for Mobile Music Making & App Music of the Berlin University of the Arts.
