The ARD Music Competition with GENUIN Special Prize

The ARD Music Competition with GENUIN Special Prize

Today marks the beginning of the 66th International ARD Music Competition in Munich, organized by Bavarian Radio. Until September 15th, 2017, young artists will take part in the fields of violin, piano, guitar and oboe in their attempt to win one of the coveted prizes. The competition is considered one of the most prestigious and greatest competitions for classical music. Many of today's world famous artists have benefited from it, among others, Jessye Norman, Maurice André, and Thomas Quasthoff. In contrast to the German Music Competition, musicians from all nations can participate. The highest age is based according to the category and is usually between 25 and 28 years. All competitions and concerts are open to the public.

Just in time for the competition, our prizewinner CD featuring the Aris Quartet, winner of the 2016 ARD Music Competition, will be released on the 8th of September. Once again this year GENUIN will be there to award one of the musicians or ensembles with the GENUIN Special Prize. This prizewinner CD is expected to be released next year on GENUIN classics.

Further information about the competition can be found here on the website of the Bavarian Radio.
