One of the most ambitious recording projects undertaken in recent years is being issued by GENUIN in collaboration with WDR - the first complete recording of all of Robert Schumann's works for violin and fortepiano on period instruments. Lisa Marie Landgraf (violin) and Tobias Koch (pianoforte) present a refreshing, authentic and lively rendition of the works which make no compromises in their commitment to the intimate dialogue of these period instruments from Schumann's lifetime. The recording totals over three and a half hours of music -spontaneous, "cut-in-the-rough" sounds which seem to be mysteriously afloat, as though from a bygone age. The performances were captured using the most advanced sound engineering and demonstrate the GENUIN label's natural, unreconstructed sound aesthetics. This release comes in a highly attractive 3-CD carton box design featuring a comprehensive and richly illustrated booklet (116 pages).
