Michael Schütze performed as a soloist with various orchestras including the Anhalt Philharmonic Orchestra. He is regularly engaged as an official accompanist for international vocal competitions, for example DEBUT in Weikersheim, the Robert Schumann International Competition in Zwickau, the Bavarian Broadcasting Competition “La Voce”, NATS in Los Angeles and the “Competizione dell’Opera”.
He worked as a Lied accompanist with singers such as Kammersänger Olaf Bär, Kammersänger Andreas Schmidt and Christoph Pohl.

He teaches at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden and gives piano lessons at the Kreismusikschule Dreiländereck in Löbau. Since 2004, he has taught regularly as a guest instructor in the United States at California State University in Fullerton, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music as well as at the University of Delaware. In 2014, he accepted a DAAD guest professorship at the University of New Mexico and taught as a guest instructor at Ionian University in Corfu. In 2011, he became a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden. Radio recordings with the MDR and RBB complete his musical achievements.
