Christine Hoock, Double Bass
Christine Hoock founded the internationally-acclaimed Frankfurt Double Bass Quartet while still a student in Frankfurt and Genf with Günter Klaus und Franco Petracchi. This versatile double bassist can be heard in extremely diverse settings, from classical music to world music and jazz–something also evident in her varied discography. Christine Hoock has made guest appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Lucerne Festival, Festival de San Sebastián, MusikTriennale Cologne, Oficina des Música de Curitiba, and Berlin and Salzburg festivals, to name a few. A prizewinner at international competitions, she was appointed solo double bassist of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne early in her career, and is currently Professor of Double Bass at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. In addition to her busy concert schedule, she gives master classes at international academies and festivals and serves as a juror at international competitions.
