Anke Dennert, Harpsichord

Anke Dennert first studied recorder and harpsichord at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg. Her enthusiasm for the harpsichord and its fascinating, wide-ranging repertoire led her to major in keyboard instruments. After studying with Robert Kohnen in Brussels and Andreas Staier in Cologne, she completed her performance degree in harpsichord and clavichord in Hamburg with Gisela Gumz. The musician has set much of her focus on the revival of forgotten works, in particular compositions by female composers. She has recorded the sonatas by Anna Bon di Venezia on the Aeolus label. Anke Dennert is also a member of Ensemble Obligat in Hamburg and Toutes Suites in San Diego. In 2016 she recorded Georg Philipp Telemann’s Solo Overtures on the GENUIN Classics label on a harpsichord by Christian Zell (Hamburg, 1728). Anke Dennert teaches historical keyboard instruments and figured bass at the Hamburg Conservatory and offers courses in early music.
