Anja Kleinmichel

Anja Kleinmichel studied piano with Alan Marks and Gabriele Kupfernagel at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and chamber music and song interpretation at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. She is high in demand as a piano accompanist and primarily appears with various ensembles in chamber music recitals. Anja Kleinmichel is especially interested in New Music for chamber ensembles. She obtained decisive artistic impetus from master classes given by Ensemble Modern, among others, and from working as a scholarship recipient at the Forum Neues Musiktheater of the Stuttgart State Opera. Anja Kleinmichel completed advanced studies in improvisation and created background music for silent films as a member of Duo Spur. In addition to her work as a pianist and lecturer at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig, she also writes texts on music.
